CPCT Typing Test Format

The actual CPCT exam consists of two typing modules:

  • English Typing: 15 minutes test. You need a minimum of 30 Words Per Minute (WPM) to qualify.
  • Hindi Typing: 15 minutes test using Remington Gail (Mangal Font). You need a minimum of 20 WPM to qualify.

How to Practice Effectively?

To clear the CPCT typing test in your first attempt, follow these guidelines:

  1. Focus on Accuracy First: In the beginning, don't worry about speed. Focus on hitting the right keys. Accuracy above 95% will naturally lead to higher speed.
  2. Use Correct Posture: Keep your back straight and wrists slightly elevated. This prevents fatigue during the 15-minute exam.
  3. Daily Consistency: Practice for at least 30-45 minutes every day rather than 5 hours once a week.
  4. Mock Tests: Use our exam-mode timer to simulate the pressure of the real CPCT exam.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Looking at the keyboard instead of the screen.
  • Using only a few fingers instead of all ten.
  • Skipping words or lines (this severely impacts your net speed).
